MUSIC WORKSHOPS FEATURING MICHAEL AND JILL GALLINA

Michael and Jill Gallina’s inspirational teacher workshops have stimulated the imagination of teachers across the nation. Through the use of captivating ideas, engaging materials, and over twenty years of experience as professional educators, the Gallinas have energized workshop participants with a wealth of valuable information that can immediately be utilized in their classrooms and programs.
The following is a sampling of some of their most requested educator workshops:

A PLAY IN A DAY

Instant performance pieces for every occasion. Short, easy to stage mini musicals and performance pieces with interchangeable rhyming scripts and minimal costume, set, and staging requirements will be presented. Themes such as character education, multiculturalism, holidays and many others topical areas will be addressed.  Perfect for the busy music teacher! Free packets of highlights booklets will be distributed to attendees.

A YEAR IN SONG

A multitude of music for the whole year! Plan your entire year of music with this presentation of selections for holidays, special events, and commemorative occasions. Rhythm activities, partner songs, musicals about famous composers, and classic chorals for children are among the exciting selections featured in this session. Programming ideas and performance tips accompany each selection. Free packets of music will be distributed to attendees.

BUILDING CHORAL EXCELLENCE IN BEGINNING CHOIRS

Come sing with us in a workshop that will provide your students with a sound vocal foundation and immediate success as they begin their choral journey. A sequential approach to choral development will be shared beginning with simple rounds, partner songs, call and response, echoing, and building to traditional two part choral literature.

SOUND CHOICES FOR DEVELOPING VOICES

Mastering the National Standards with music that is certain to inspire, motivate and educate upper elementary and middle school students. Contest material, classics for changing voice, choreography, and musical plays are just a few of the highlights of this session filled with music designed and written specifically for this age level. CHARACTER  EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT THROUGH MUSIC

Music can be a vital force in developing character, sensitivity, and awareness of the needs of others. Through the use of choral music and musical plays, attendees will be given tools to help inculcate their students with character building values.

TUNES THAT TEACH

Given the current emphasis on integrated curricular offerings, music teachers have been called upon to utilize music as a means of addressing areas across the curriculum. With the National Music Standards as a guide, this workshop will emphasize the use of music as an inter-disciplinary instructional tool. Free packets of music will be distributed to attendees.

THE PLAYS THE THING

This workshop will provide teachers with a wide range of skills needed to successfully select and present musical plays. Topics such as character education, parent and community involvement, multiculturalism, story theater, and the use of musicals as performance pieces as well as instructional tools will be addressed. UNITED IN SONG AND SPIRIT

Use your music program to sound a note that resonates with love and mutual understanding. The selections presented in this workshop contain a variety of musical messages that spread the words of peace, love, tolerance, respect for one another, and form the basis for a caring and supportive educational community. PUTTIN’ ON THE KIDZ

Puttin' on the Kidz- Setting the Stage for Success!
Everything you need to know for presenting successful musicals for youth. Repertoire, casting, costuming, staging and a plethora of useful information will be shared with attendees. In addition, the workshop will include a demonstration highlighting scenes from successful musicals presented live by elementary students.
